Horror in Harem

I'm not sure what's going on over here. I just hope that it is the angle in which this photo was taken but the whole getup just screams horrific. Her beautiful face wasted in this shapeless, unflattering combo.

The harem jumpsuit trend cannot be trifled with. It is something that must be dealt with carefully, depending on your body type and the shape of the jumpsuit itself. The belt does nothing for the ensemble but create a demarcation of what's fitted and what's horribly not. The arm bracelet and how it matches the belt is also just a heinous crime.

The shoes are terribly cute but unfortunately loses its charm because of how busy everything seems to be up top.

Her earring is absolutely adorable. But had she put her hair up or perhaps not have so much stuff going on (including have a necklace on top of everything else), it would work so much better.

Her bag...is just not happening. But then again, I'm not very good with bag matching.

Shopping "Damage"

My bff and I have done some major 'damage' recently from all the shopping we've done the last 3 weekends in a row. We hit up Eryn Brinie and American Apparel first, then Barneys Warehouse Sale on Valentines weekend and today Intermix and (again) Barneys. We've definitely been stimulating the economy and I tell you, I hope it's quite scintillated.

I've posted outfits with a couple of the things I've purchased (Eryn Brinie size-zip tux leggings, American Apparel Cotton Spandex Dress) and as soon as the weather gets better, more of my other outfits. Including my much beloved bargain piece from the Intermix sale (awesome jodhpurs that actually fit me well!) and THE great Alexander Wang top from Barneys. Also wonderful Jil Sander and the drapey goodness :)

Fall 2009 NY Fashion Week part deux

Okay so I can't stop posting about the newest collections from Fashion Week. This one is from Alexandre Herchovitch's F2009RTW

I love the play of layers on the pants. It's a look I'm thinking about emulating with some stuff I already have. Perhaps when it gets a bit warmer. This is a designer I definitely will follow from now on. He's got some amazing looks.

Amazing poncho coat from Halston F2008RTW

I've been exposed to all the hullabaloo about Alexander Wang and so I was looking forward to what he had to show. I have mixed feelings about it as I'm a relative newbie to his stuff (well perusing actual collections as well and reviewing them). I feel that they're rather uninspired and perhaps a bit on the dull side (I'm really not too keen on the cycling shorts look). I did, however, like a couple of the looks from his F2009RTW.

I think it's an interesting take on rearranging the concept of a halter top.

I also liked this over-sized tuxedo style button down with the skinny trousers.

Favorites so far...

Absolutely gorgeous pieces from Vivienne Tam's F2009RTW. I love that the blue dress looks like a snake that's wrapped itself onto the bodice. Draping always make me swoon so the silhouette created by the second piece is simply breath taking.

As usual, the wonderful Phillip Lim has again dazzled me with his 3.1 Phillip Lim F2009RTW. He is the master in making such intricate designs that exudes simplicity. The colors are vibrant and muted at the same time. I absolutely love this collection.

I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some of the pieces I've mentioned here. O' to dream.

I wanted to wear my new BCBG Max Azria dress today but it was so positively cold out that I buckled down and wore my high waist Express trousers again. I'm wearing warm and cozy cashmere tights underneath. I thought I'd break out my Miu Mius again after not having worn them for like 2 years or so (nuts I know). Last time I wore them I think was at Embassy in the Philippines. Crazy shit. So this Victoria's Secret vest turned out to be a lot better than I thought it would be. Good quality and the fit is real nice.

I have such trouble with posing for fashion pictures. I get all self conscious and feel like I'm trying too hard so even if I might have had some kind of ideas on how I wanted the photograph to come out, my lack of confidence gets the best of me. Thus, I end up with blah poses that are mundane and repetitive.

It's cold out so location for the photography itself is now severely limited.

I'm feeling ugly and fat and bloated. Ah well. PMS time again.

Went dancing with my girlfriends at the Cat Club in San Francisco. 1984 on Thursdays. Figured I needed to rewrite history since the last time I was there, I had to be carried out. This time I walked out perfectly fine and had a blast with the girls dancing to awesome 80s music.

Also thought I'd dress up like a rockstar for the night. Had people looking at me funny. Perhaps San Francisco's not quite ready for my Leather-esque pants + cross necklace + faux fur coat + buckle booties. I remind myself of Axl Rose. Not a good thing.

I've been home for the holidays for a couple of days now. So been spending quality time with the family :) Haven't had a chance to take pictures of my outfits since work was hectic before my departure.

I know the outfit looks real original ;) This post is to showcase my new Jeffrey Campbell booties. I love them to pieces. My bro M calls them my roman/Jesus times-during-winter shoes. After he took my pics, he decided he'll do his version of fashion photos.

Shopping frenzy

So when do I not have a shopping frenzy when shopping with B? Uhm. Never.
I met up with B today because he was suppose to do some shopping for himself for his upcoming return to HK (*tears*). What happened was what always seems to happen when I escort him in these shopping excursions, I end up buying everything.

So that Christmas Wishlist....yea I can check off the first two items. I got me the AA Disco Pant in Black (love the fit! I swear they look the the ones Sandy was wearing the in last scene in Grease)

Tell me about it... stud!

I also got the cardigan from BK Industries, except they didn't have my size in the gray so I ended up with the green one. Still a happy camper :)

Then we also stopped by this great fabulousity called OAK in Williamsburg. And I got me these babies....

Oh my god I'm inlove. I mean I fall inlove with every shoe I buy but they're all my babies and I love each and every one of them equally. Sorta. But these are gonna get worn with my AA Disco Pant and Zara leather jacket and I'm going to rock out like I've never rocked out before. Well we'll see if I actually get the guts to do it.
